In the panorama of traffic fines and sanctions in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trieste stands out as the provincial capital municipality that has collected the greatest amount during 2023, with a figure that is close to 5.6 million euros. This emerges from the analysis conducted by Facile.it on Siope data, the information system for the operations of public bodies.
Udine and Pordenone on the podium
If Trieste dominates the ranking, there is no shortage of significant contributions from other regional capitals. Udine comes in second place, with 2.5 million euros cashed, followed by Pordenonewith 1.3 million euros.
The tail of the ranking
The municipality of Goriziadespite being at the bottom of the regional rankings, still recorded a income of over 472,000 euros coming from fines for violations of the Highway Code.
The fine per capita
Another interesting aspect that emerged from the Facile.it analysis concerns the value of “per capita fine”. Trieste also confirms its lead in this special ranking, with a per capita fine of 28 eurosfollowed closely by Pordenone and Udine, both with 26 euros. He closes the list, once again, Gorizia, with a per capita fine of just 14 euros.
Small municipalities stand out
It is not just the provincial capitals that record significant figures. Among the smaller municipalities, the province of Udine stands out, with Street Castionswhich grossed more than 678,000 euros with alone 3,647 inhabitants, Bertiolo with beyond 605,000 euros And Varmo with 392,000 euros of sanctions, with 2,353 and 2,653 inhabitants respectively.
The analysis of the data highlights a complex and multifaceted reality, in which municipalities, large and small, contribute significantly to the revenues deriving from traffic fines. If on the one hand the provincial capitals emerge with significant figures, on the other hand the contribution of the small towns cannot be overlooked, which demonstrate that they play a non-negligible role in the collection of fines.
