The Provincial Command of the Carabinieri continues its activity to combat crimes against persons Ragusa.

In particular, the Carabinieri of the Scoglitti station intervened inside an agricultural company as a worker had been reported injured by a cutting object following a dispute with a colleague.

The soldiers, who arrived on site, learned that the person attacked, a Bangladeshi worker, had cuts to his abdomen and head, therefore they guaranteed medical aid for the injured person who was subsequently transported to the “Guzzardi” hospital in Vittoria.

Still on site, they proceeded to check another worker, identified by those present as the attacker, identifying him as BK, a 53-year-old Algerian.

The military were able to detect the presence of clear traces of blood on the clothing that the Algerian worker was wearing, or from investigations on his person, various cutting objects compatible with the victim’s wounds were found.

After having crystallized the investigative elements that emerged at the scene of the events, they questioned those present and the victim, managing to reconstruct the dynamics of the events and clarifying that the attack had arisen between the two workers for trivial reasons.

The Carabinieri, after having learned what was reported by the Emergency Department of the Vittoria Hospital, proceeded against BK to arrest him for the crime of aggravated injuries and, having completed the ritual acts, accompanied him to the prison of Ragusa available to the Judicial Authority.

On Monday 20 May, during the direct procedure for the validation of the precautionary measure applied by the Carabinieri, the Single Judge confirmed the investigative elements collected by the military and confirmed the legitimacy of the arrest by ordering the precautionary measure of house arrest against BK.
