departure for the postponed trip for 75 students

BRINDISI – Bus without insurance, without registration document and with ‘smooth tyres’: departure of the postponed trip for 75 eighth grade students from the Giulio Cesare school in Brindisi. The vehicle was seized by local police officers. At the time of writing the young students are in the school’s Great Hall waiting for the arrival of a new bus. Departure was scheduled for 11am today Thursday 23 May: destination Policoro (Basilicata). From what we understand they should leave around 2.30pm.

Some parents who requested the intervention of the local police were upset by the conditions the vehicle was in upon arrival at the stopping point: the windows were dirty as were the interior. Someone also noticed the ‘smooth’ tyres, which are therefore dangerous. The educational trip, lasting three days, involved all the eighth grade classes of the Ic commenda of which Giulio cesare is a part. Of three buses that arrived to pick up the students, one caused concern. It is a double-storey vehicle, without adequate space for luggage. Some parents took action to ensure their children would travel on a safe bus.

Through a check at the police headquarters operations room, it emerged that the vehicle did not have insurance, which had expired about a month ago. Therefore, a local police patrol was also sent to the site to carry out all the necessary checks. The registration document was not found and the tires were actually not suitable for a journey.

Thus the administrative arrest was triggered with related reports. The vehicle has been parked and can only be removed with a tow truck. Delayed departure for the unlucky students.
