Three study prizes in memory of Giancarlo Rastelli. The Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Parma has established, thanks to the contribution of the Medical Care Development Peace Association, three study prizes to be awarded for the 2023-24 academic year to students regularly enrolled in the course single-cycle study in Medicine and Surgery and/or postgraduates enrolled in the Specialization School in Diseases of the cardiovascular system and cardiac surgery of Italian and European universities.

The Giancarlo Rastelli award is aimed at making students aware of the figure of Giancarlo Rastelli, medical researcher and scientist, graduate and assistant in clinical surgery at the University of Parma, then head of cardiac surgery research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (USA) .

The first place winner will be awarded a prize of 3 thousand euros, the second of 2 thousand euros and the third of one thousand euros.

Participation in the competition requires the development of a theme in Italian or English based on a maxim by Giancarlo Rastelli: “The doctor’s first charity towards the patient is Science”

The application to participate in the selection and the theme must be submitted by August 31st.
