May 23 2024 – The FP Cgil is the first trade union at the Holy Family Foundationan organization that provides assistance and rehabilitation services for people with disabilities.

At elections to renew the unitary trade union representations, held from 14 to 16 May, in all the Foundation’s offices – in Lombardy (in Cesano Boscone, where the registered office is located, Milan, Varese and Lecco), Piedmont and Liguria -, the workers chose the union of the square with 45% of the votes red which took 343 votes out of the 768 valid votes overall and 17 seats out of 39.

“At a national level, the FP Cgil improved the votes of the 2018 round, where 14 candidates were elected. Participation in this important democratic occasion was good: almost 56% of the staff went to vote (out of approximately 1800 employees overall, 1500 those entitled and 834 those who voted)”, says Davide Farano, FP Cgil Lombardy regional coordinator for the Holy Family.

And in Lombardy?

“Even in our region as Fp Cgil we are the majority union in terms of votes and seats: for us 216 votes in favor out of 598 valid votes (1232 eligible voters, 645 voters), i.e. the 36% of workers. The seats we take, i.e. the elected delegates and delegates, are 9 out of the 28 available in the various offices of the Foundation. The FP CGIL effectively obtains a third of the union representation. This result gives us a responsibility and we thank you for the trust it underlies”, replies Farano.

What commitments have you made as Fp Cgil to carry forward?

“They are different and must also be seen in the complicated phase that the sector is experiencing, also marked by the state of unified national agitation for the renewal of the Uneba contract – claims the trade unionist -, It is certainly a priority improve the conditions of workersalso pursuing those levers that can lead to conciliation of life and work times. For example, with a review of shifts, to make them more responsive to people’s needs, to the quality of their daily lives – specifies Farano -. But they must also be introduced systems to make working for the Holy Family attractivetherefore, here too, guarantees, rights and protections are needed both at a qualitative and quantitative level”.
