The director, animator and illustrator Marino Guarnieriamong the most influential and well-known artists in the Italian animation scene, will be in Bisceglie on May 27th to meet students, teachers and parents on the occasion of the conclusion of the project “The Cinema Game”which in recent months has involved the students of First Educational Club “Edmondo De Amicis” in the making of an animated short film.

The short, written, directed, animated and set to music by children, with the precious coordination of experts Luigi Iovane, Adolfo Di Molfetta, Maria Cavallo And Gabriele Panico, who oversaw the workshops, will be shown to the public at 7.00 pm in the internal courtyard of the school (via Piave, 86). The school director and project manager will speak during the evening Marialisa Di Liddo, the scientific director Antonio Musci and the Director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Foggia Pietro Di Terlizzi.

The young directors, actors and musicians who made the short film will have the opportunity to talk about their experience and the work carried out in the workshops, which involved over eighty children from February to the end of April. The students worked in groups with great enthusiasm, going from writing the script to the storyboard, to the development of sets and backdrops, of the characters and, finally, to shooting image by image, through the use of professional shooting software and equipment, editing and post-production. Furthermore, through an approach to music for images, the children were put in a position to approach an original sound system for cinema, participating in the creation of the music of the short film produced and using both analogue and electronic instruments in a creative way.

Special guest on the final day of the project will be the director Marino Guarnieri, who will dialogue with the students starting from his own artistic experience, delving into and explaining the animation techniques used in his works. At the end of the meeting, at 8pm, two of his short films will be screened: Midnight signs (2015) e Loops (2020).

In the afternoon, at 4 pm, Guarnieri will also hold a masterclass on animated cinema entitled “At the school of animated cinema”, which will address the technical and formal aspects of the production of an animated film, starting from the long and consolidated experience production of the director of Cinderella the cat. An appointment that is part of a larger “media education” laboratory – already started in recent weeks by Antonio Musci – reserved for teachers, envisaged by the project to explore the possibilities of using cinematographic and audiovisual language as an educational support .

The short film The Cinema Game, created by the students during ten weeks of workshops, will be shown to all the students of the First Educational Club “Edmondo De Amicis” during the morning. Children will thus be able to admire it on the big screen Politeama Italia of Bisceglie the fruit of their passionate work, created by also exploiting the ideas and creative stimuli offered by the meetings with the Bisceglie animators Maria Rosaria Dell’Olio, Giulio De Toma and Adolfo Di Molfetta.

The “La Camera Verde” project was developed in close collaboration with the teachers of the First Circle Projects Commission: Mara Altamura, Viviana Barbieri, Maria Grazia Colangelo, Giovanna Di Pierro, Ester Facchini, Caterina Gadaleta, Grazia Pedone and Antonella Petruzzella; with the coordination of the teacher Lorenzo Sciascia, the school director and the DSGA Dr. Francesco Piergiovanni; with the essential supervision of the tutor teachers Chiara Annese, Grazia Campanale, Loredana Papagni, Elisabetta Pedone and Marianna Pellegrini. The school project can count on the patronage of the Municipality of Bisceglie, the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari and the collaboration of the associations Canudo ETS of Bisceglie e Atalante ETS of Conversano.
