“Cortili in Musica” returns for the 19th edition from 6 to 27 June

PAVIA – Chamber music among the historic courtyards of Pavia: returns “Courtyards in Music”the event that from 6 to 27 June 2024 will liven up the city’s summer evenings with concerts in suggestive places and a program full of internationally renowned artists.

I Solisti di Pavia, a chamber orchestra founded in 2001 from a project by Andrea Astolfi and from the creativity of Enrico Dindowill be the protagonists of the event, accompanied by exceptional guests such as Pavel Berman, Federico Mondelci, Laura Marzadori and Gioele Dix.

Concerts in the most beautiful courtyards of Pavia

The music will resonate in the internal courtyards of some of the most fascinating buildings in Pavia, including the Cairoli College, the Borromeo College and Palazzo Malaspina. The inauguration, on June 6, will be at the Collegio Borromeo with Pavel Berman on violin, Enrico Dindo on cello and I Solisti di Pavia. A concert preceded by the delivery of the “Andrea Astolfi” Award to Ferruccio de Bortoli.

New for 2024: “Courtyards OFF”

Two concerts outside the historic center enrich the program of this edition: on June 17th at the Scala district with the Pavia Cello Academy Quartet And on June 24th at the Cloister of the Basilica of San Lanfranco with a female string quartet of the Solisti di Pavia. Among the other events to mark in the diaryon June 13th in the Aula Magna of the Fratelli Cairoli College with the final concert by the students of the Pavia Cello Academy, directed by Enrico Dindo.

On Wednesday 19 June the Solisti di Pavia quintet will host the saxophonist Federico Mondelci for a program that ranges from Marcello to Rachmaninov, from Bernstein and Gershwin to Javier Girotto (Palazzo Malaspina).

Grand finale on June 27th with Laura Marzadorifirst violin of the Teatro alla Scala, e The Soloists of Pavia for the Sonata n.9 in A Major “A Kreutzer” by Ludwig Van Beethoven in the orchestration of Richard Tognettiwith introduction and narrative voice by Joel Dix on texts by Lev Tolstoy (Cairoli Brothers College).
