Remembering the Capaci massacre, peace procession in Messina

MESSINA – Capaci massacre of 23 May 1992: the “Cannizzaro-Galatti” comprehensive institute organizes a procession through the streets of the city, from 9 in the morning. All at the end of a course of studies on the “Legality, memory and commitment” project.

The route, with a stop in the Cathedral, has the objective of “launching a message of peace against violence and against organized crime and, at the same time, remembering the victims of the mafia and committing ourselves all to a better future”. For its part, the Addiopizzo Messina Committee supports and invites you to participate in the march.

Judge Giovanni Falcone and his wife, magistrate Francesca Morvillo, and escort agents Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo and Antonio Montinaro died in the mafia massacre.

Departure from the courtyard of the central plexus of all classes around 09:00.
Procession along the streets: Via M. Giurba – Via Faranda – – Via C. Battisti – – Via I Settembre –
Arrival at Piazza Duomo at 10.00 am and stop inside the Cathedral until around 11.00 am for a moment of reflection.

Continuation of the procession along the streets: Corso Cavour – – Via A. Martino- – Via N. Fabrizi – – Via
M. Giurba
Return expected in the courtyard of the school headquarters around 12.00.
