THE VILLAGES OF TREASURES
It is the second weekend of the “Borghi dei Tesori Roots Fest”, the festival which for three weekends takes us around to discover 46 villages scattered like tiles of a single Sicilian mosaic.

There are 500 events including unpublished sites, walks and experiences and many young people involved to tell the story of a completely unknown Sicily that goes from the Madonie to the Nebrodi, from the Sicani to the Iblei, from one tip of the island to the other.

Climbing up the mountains like many small nativity scenes, one more beautiful than the other, surrounded by greenery, the 11 villages of the Madonie open the doors of their artistic jewels.

Still in the Palermo area, there are 9 other villages to be discovered. Treasure chests of art and culture but also holders of a highly respectable gastronomic and confectionery heritage. Starting from Kuntisa (Contessa Entellina), where walks among the rows of vines up to the Rocca di Entella and tours through the alleys of the village await you; at the Frederick castle of Giuliana, an aperitif at sunset among nobles and courtesans is not to be missed.

Two Trapani villages not to be missed with the new edition of the festival: Calatafimi-Segesta and the “land of marbles and madonnas” as Custonaci is defined.
