Today Asti welcomes the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella

The awaited day has arrived. Today Asti will welcome the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella for an official visit that the Prefect Claudio Ventrice has defined as “historic”. Mattarella will be at the Alfieri Theater to remember his friend Giovanni Goria (at the invitation of the Goria Foundation chaired by his son Marco), child prodigy of Italian politics, the youngest Prime Minister of the First Republic, of whose government Mattarella was Minister for Relations with Parliament.

At the Alfieri Theater the President will participate in the commemoration “Giovanni Goria, thirty years later”. An opportunity to remember the former Prime Minister in the presence of the President of the Region Alberto Cirio, parliamentarians, the mayor Maurizio Rasero, the president of the Foundation, Marco Goria, Goria’s schoolmate, Gianna Martinengo, Innocenzo Cipolletta, Franco Pizzetti and Bruno Tabacci. The interventions will be coordinated by the director of the Foundation, Carlo Cerrato.

Then Mattarella, after greeting the citizens, will go to visit the new headquarters of the Goria Foundation and, finally, Palazzo Alfieri.

The stages of the visit to Asti

Mattarella will arrive at 10.45am by helicopter, from Caselle airport, to stadium Censin Bosia.

At 11 he will be at Alfieri Theatre to participate in the commemoration “Giovanni Goria, thirty years later”.

At 12.15 he will greet the citizens in Piazza Alfieri and travel by car to Goria Foundationin Piazza San Martino.

Then, at 12.45, the arrival at Casa Alfieri is expected. Around 1pm President Mattarella will leave for Turin and then for Rome.
