The Cassa di Risparmio di Foligno Foundation recently renewed its commitment to the local community, with a gesture of generosity that saw the updating of the software of a linear accelerator at the Foligno hospital. This device, used for intraoperative radiotherapy, represents an important tool in the fight against breast cancer.

The Umbria 2 Local Health Authority announced this news, underlining the importance of this operation which allows the hospital to have cutting-edge equipment. This act demonstrates the collaboration between the Umbria 2 Local Health Authority and the Foundation, both committed to guaranteeing quality healthcare services and tangible benefits for patients.

Monica Sassi, president of the Cassa di Risparmio di Foligno Foundation, expressed her pride in the role played by the Foundation in supporting the hospital. The Foundation aims to offer increasingly efficient services to the community, and with this action it intends to strengthen the existing synergy.

Piero Carsili, general director of the Umbria 2 Local Health Authority, thanked President Sassi and the Foundation’s board of directors for their support for the project. This project, presented by Dr. Gianfranco Lolli, head of the breast unit of the San Giovanni Battista hospital, aims at technological innovation and the humanization of care.

Nando Scarpelli, health director of the Umbria 2 local health authority, and Orietta Rossi, director of the Foligno hospital, also expressed their gratitude to the Foundation for the precious donation.
