On Sunday in Reggio Emilia the GLS Dolphins Ancona women’s flag football team played three games.

And even if the results did not please the ‘Girls’, the growth path continued, showing all the goodness and healthy intentions of the project.

In the first match against the Ferrara Eagles, the latter won by 20 to 6. Then the Reggio Emilia Hogs got the better of our heroines by 40 to 7. Finally, in the second match against Ferrara, the Eagles won by 38 to 6.

However, Riccardo Petrilli, co-coach of the team together with Antonio Nocera, explains the day better: «The bowl in Reggio Emilia was the natural continuation of our journey. It was a beautiful day of flag football, characterized by technical growth on the field, but above all by the harmony of the group of girls we have. And this is beyond any result. The comparison with other realities is always very positive because we also receive excellent feedback from the outside regarding the ‘Dolphins Girls’ project. We are constantly growing and have been since we started.”

The occasion is useful to reveal the plans for the immediate future: «We move forward with the smile and energy that distinguishes us and which is now the symbol of the Dolphins family throughout Italy, aiming ever higher. Our next appointment is for the final phase of the F3 championship which will be held on the weekend of 7, 8 and 9 June when all the Italian teams will be present.”

In the long term, however, «our goal was and remains to continue to cultivate this project, to bring more and more girls to the camp, to ensure that they have fun and can compete at a national level. We want to become a point of reference for women’s sport in our city and in our region, in order to give all the girls who want to test themselves in flag football the opportunity to find an enthusiastic, united and close-knit group.”
