Cosenza, the traffic (chaos) in the hands of today’s “scientists” and yesterday’s brazen faces

In Cosenza for a few days now we’ve only been talking about… traffic and people – let’s be clear – have their own sacrosanct reasons for doing so, since we really can’t get around at all and the traffic jams are becoming unbearable.

The “scientists” of the Municipality, as everyone now calls them, in their eagerness to demolish the horrible roundabout in Viale della Repubblica conceived and… built by Mario Occhiuto, known not by chance as the bully, did not calculate that before arriving at the liberating demolition, there were at least two more operations to complete. Primarily, the restoration of two-way traffic in the morgue area on Viale della Repubblica, where there is currently a commercial business that operates in good and bad weather without anyone worrying about “containing” its illogical expansion onto the road. Secondly, then, the now “usual” connecting link between Via Quintieri and Piazza Fera, which just can’t be built and which is essential to streamline traffic but that’s it… To this day in front of the morgue there are those who wallow and the slip road is a mirage.

But another problem of no less importance is represented by the fact that all the parallel streets are concentrated in a truly pedestrian manner on via Roma and there are two changes of direction, in particular, that scream revenge. Previously you went down Viale della Repubblica onto that stretch of Via Simonetta where the “Famele” stationery shop is located and where Via Roma basically ends and now nothing… you go up and we would really like to understand on the basis of what the “scientists” changed the direction of travel. Absurd.

Another absurdity: first we went up from via Roma towards via Tancredi (with the accompanying smell of squeezed brakes and clutches), thus giving vent to the traffic and now instead we go down making traffic on Via Roma even more chaotic. Let’s hope that “scientists” understand these elementary tips.

In all of this, the minority city councilors pounced on the case, who should just hide or keep quiet after their bullshit “master” devastated, gutted and looted Viale Parco-Mancini. Incredible, but true, they make the media write that they carried out an “inspection” (sic!) to verify the situation and conclude that their “master” – always a bullshit – was right. We are truly mad: as if the people of Cosenza could forget the interminable queues in Occhiuti’s decade on Via Popilia, XXIV Maggio, Viale della Repubblica or the Due Fiumi funnel… But no: they now claim that all the troubles arose from some day… And here we really need to draw a veil of mercy but we can’t avoid showing you their bronze faces, sorry ass.
