Aversa, 17-year-old boy hit by a train dies

Tragedy in Aversa: a nineteen-year-old hit by a high-speed train.

At approximately 5.30pm. today a dramatic event occurred which involved a 19 year old young man who was dragged towards the tracks by the speed wave of the FrecciaRossa passing through the Aversa station.
Some present, also on the platforms waiting for the trains, said that the young man was probably late in realizing the arrival of the train which was traveling at high speed and that an elderly gentleman, realizing what was about to happen, thrown towards the young man in a desperate attempt to pull him towards the pavement. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done and the elderly gentleman, greatly shaken and saddened by what he had experienced, fell ill and the prompt intervention of the ambulance doctors was necessary, who immediately rushed to the scene, together with the officers of Polfer.
Train circulation has been suspended on the Rome-Naples line via Formia pending the necessary ongoing investigations by investigators.
