General Andrea Rispoli, commander of the Forestry, Environmental and Agri-food unit command of the Carabinieri, today visited the departments in the provinces of Naples and Caserta. This morning he was present at the “Don Orione” center in Ercolano where he participated in a conference on the theme “Heroism and the Carabinieri Weapon”, organized by the director Don Rosario Belli, in which the local authorities took part, including the prefect of Naples, Michele Di Bari and the students of the local high schools. During the event, which also represented a lesson in legality, the deeds of some heroes of the Carabinieri throughout the history of Italy were narrated, highlighting how, even today, heroism materializes in the pursuit of high values and ideals, which have always characterized being a policeman, a service and a mission for others.
After a brief greeting to Matteo Lorito, rector of the “Federico II” University of Naples, Commander Rispoli, accompanied by General Ciro Lungo, commander of the “Campania” Forestry Carabinieri Region, visited the new Marigliano Forestry Carabinieri barracks soon inauguration. On this occasion, the commander awarded some honors to the soldiers present, for their ongoing and effective action to combat environmental crimes and offenses in the area. General Rispoli then highlighted the excellent work carried out by the Carabinieri Forestali group of Naples and the dependent units, underlining the strategic importance of the new garrison in an area with a high index of environmental crime, with a high population density and committed to the difficult task of fight against the phenomenon of illicit combustion of waste. The Carabinieri Forestali unit of Marigliano is constantly engaged in the activities envisaged by the prefectural plan in the so-called “Land of Fires”, in favor of the health of the environment and the health of citizens, constituting a privileged point of listening and reassurance for the citizens of the area.
The intense day in Campania continued with a visit to the Carabinieri Forestali group of Caserta, the Carabinieri biodiversity department of Caserta and the Noe of Caserta. The general, welcomed by the officers, the commanders of the units and the provincial staff, complimented the relevant and recent results in the judicial police, especially in combating traffic, illicit management and abandonment of waste, as well as for the valorisation activities and protection of the rich biodiversity of the area. He then underlined the difficulty of operating in complex territories, encouraging the military to always provide maximum commitment to protecting the environment and protecting citizens, recalling that the Carabinieri has always been a point of reference for the service of the people, for address the multiple and diverse needs of the community.
