The photographic exhibitions of Tamara Merino and Alessia Rollo at the Spazio Bunker in Sassari

Photography as a sociological investigation in the two prestigious exhibitions which open the 5th from Friday 31 May edition of Asynchronies, international documentary film and photography festival conceived and curated by the collective of filmmakers, photographers and researchers 4CaniperStrada. The appointment is for Friday at 5.30pm in the Bunker Space in via Porcellana 17/A in Sassari.

Underland by the Chilean photographer and National Geographic explorer Tamara Merino”arrives at the festival thanks to the collaboration with the Biennale of Female Photography of Mantua organized by the cultural association La Papessa and curated by Alessia Locatelli. It documents the daily life of some communities in Spain, Australia, Tunisia and the United States who have decided to isolate themselves from an increasingly technological world to live in underground environments, more energy efficient and more sustainable than conventional homes.

Parallel Eyes” by the visual artist from Lecce Alessia Rollo, presented at the main sector festivals including Fotografia Europea in Reggio Emilia in 2023, is a multimedia project that aims to reconsider the construction of the cultural identity of Southern Italy in visual and sociological terms. In his research, the artist from Lecce investigates the Mediterranean, deconstructing contemporary and past social and visual stereotypes to offer new points of view on this area.

The two exhibitions will remain open until June 30th from Monday to Friday from 11am to 1pm and from 6pm to 8pm.
