A few weeks before the end of the regular season, Serie B is preparing to hear the final verdicts which will decide the third team promoted and the third team relegated respectively. To focus on the topic during an interview granted to the microphones of TuttoB.com is the technical expert Attilio Tesser.
“It’s a good fight… In terms of the technical values of the squad, Cremonese has a little more. However, I honestly believed that Venezia would go straight up, a dynamic, aggressive team with the right attitude. I believe promotion will be a bargain between these two teams. We will play on the details. However, congratulations also to Catanzaro and Palermo who played a good championship.”
On the challenges Palermo-Sampdoria and Catanzaro-Brescia: “Catanzaro suffered a lot and with a pinch of good luck they managed to grab an unexpected draw at the last minute, and then prevail in extra time. Otherwise Palermo won well, with full merit. The Rosanero are a strong and valuable team, with important potential.”
On the playoffs: “It’s another match, in which the mental aspect will be decisive: both teams will have to play without fear. Sure, aTernana did much better in the first leg, but the draw leaves every scenario open. The red-greens cannot rest on the advantage of having two results out of three availablewhile the red and whites absolutely must win: it will be a complicated match.”
On the Serie C playoffs: “There could be a surprise, although I don’t really believe it. There are several teams potentially able to achieve promotion: Padua, Vicenza, Benevento (which has high technical values), Carrarese (less famous than others, but a top-class team with important individuals), Avellino (a place I have excellent memories of), while I admit that I know little about Torres. Having said that, I believe that the final could see one between Vicenza and Padova, who will face each other in the quarterfinals, and Avellino, with the Irpinia players who will still have to pay attention to Catania”.
