The Observatories on Civil Justice meet in Salerno

The Civil Justice Observatories are associations born spontaneously in many Districts
judicial authorities of Italy with the aim of encouraging discussion and collaboration between subjects who, directly or
indirectly, they are involved in the processes of improving the quality and efficiency of justice
civil: magistrates, lawyers, judicial administration personnel, university professors,
professionals, linguists and other experts.

Every year the Observatories gather in a National Assembly to share the fruit of
various activities carried out in local offices and, for certain subjects, within working groups that operate a
national level. The Assembly takes place according to the typical method of the movement, namely that of
dialogue within study and discussion groups formed by different professional categories, in
based on previously shared sheets and preparation materials.

This year the National Assembly, upon unanimous approval of the National Coordination, will be held
in Salerno, which has already hosted the National Assemblies of 2001 and 2008, on the 24th, 25th and 26th
May 2024 and will have the title “Law and Rights. Dialogue between generations and intelligences” that is
seemed transversal to various urgent and very current issues, from remote hearings to damage from
violation of privacy by AI, problems that affect not only legal operators, but also the
public administrations and citizens.

A program full of speeches and debates is planned which will be divided between the Salone dei Marmi
(24 May), the San Michele Complex and the Maritime Station (25 and 26 May).

The works will open on Friday 24 May, at 3.30 pm, at the Salone dei Marmi of the municipality of
Salerno with a conference on the theme “Educating to care for the environment to implement justice” e
will continue for the entire day of May 25th and the morning of May 26th at the San complex
Michele with five working groups on executions, artificial intelligence, family, civil ceremony and
damage to the person, with the participation of lawyers, magistrates, university professors and other operators
of justice.

In consideration of the issues to be addressed and the regulatory evolution on a national and European level
space will also be given to European Union regulations recently approved and in the process of being approved,
involving jurists directly from the EU, with the aim of creating a bridge between our territory and
Brussels.
