Olbia. In Olbiamare, a residential neighborhood on the south-eastern outskirts of Olbia, there is a serious wild boar emergency. After numerous reports from private citizens, with reports of injuries to animals and people, this time the victim of a new attack by this type of wild animal is a very sweet little dog named Mali, attacked while he was at the entrance of a building in via Eugenio Montale. A very sweet 14 year old dog who had just returned from hospitalization with a life saving operation due to an infection. A hospitalization that ended happily. The little dog had returned home healed, he had been at home for a month, then this morning the tragic epilogue.
Unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for him, he died mauled to death in front of the eyes of his owner, who was rightly shocked by what happened. The citizens of Olbiamare have long reported the presence of these wild animals. Unfortunately, the number of their presence is constantly increasing and the lack of food for some years has led the ungueats to get closer and closer to inhabited centers.
Olbiamare is currently one of the neighborhoods in Olbia most popular with wild boars also thanks to the presence of green areas, but also numerous abandoned waste.
“We now live in terror – explains a citizen – when I leave the house I risk it every morning. I see them every day and I’m terrified of going home alone because I fear being attacked by wild boars.”
After yet another serious attack, the citizens of Olbiamare are once again appealing to the public administration to take serious measures: “We can no longer live in these conditions, I understand that animals are attracted by the waste that thoughtless people throw away every day on the street, but for this reason it is necessary that urgent measures be taken. We would not want the Mayor to escape, or who for him, act and I make my most heartfelt appeal to him.” This is what the citizen writes to us.
