The new Bragarina nursery center will be delivered in June 2026

A Monday morningsite inspection for the mayor Pierluigi Peracchini and the councilor for public works Pietro Antonio Cimino. The appointment was set at the entrance to the construction site where the Bagarina 0-6 year old nursery center will be built. At the end of the works, a more modern and energy efficient building will be built, but above all capable of meeting the needs of small users and school staff, who will have at their disposal more space and better services. The intervention program is simple: demolish the current nursery and dismantle the nursery school, to build a single center where the nursery school and nursery can be located, capable of hosting around 138 children. The new structure will have an extension of approximately 40 meters in length and 24 m in width, equal to approximately 920 m2 and the total area of the lot is approximately 2400 m2.

The ground floor will be dedicated to the 3-6 age group and the first floor for the 0-3 age group, with spaces on the intermediate level which ideally constitute the meeting point between the two. The heart of the structure is a double-height common space which also acts as the main entrance, near the main road, via Sardegna, characterized by a large window thanks to its orientation which is naturally protected from exposure to direct rays of the sun. The building will be anti-seismic and will respect all safety parameters, as well as having zero energy impact (nZeb). The new structure will be equipped with modern and energy-saving systems with particular reference to the well-being of the occupants, in addition to respecting the use of eco-sustainable materials in compliance with the stringent CAM regulations. “This complex, together with the new Fontana middle school that we are rebuilding, will be a jewel for children and parents, as well as a tangible symbol of the change we have brought to this city,” said the mayor.

All internal and external spaces represent the effort to combine the chosen spatial configurations with good management practices and to develop an optimal relationship with the most advanced pedagogical choices. The teaching environment thus becomes instrumental to learning and the educational process, as does the architectural form, colors and materials. The outdoor space was also conceived as an open-air laboratory. But where are we today? The construction site began on 11 November 2023 and, to date, selective demolition and remediation of asbestos-containing material is underway. Furthermore, from this week the complete demolition of the existing building and the construction of the foundations for the new building are scheduled. The complete conclusion of the project is scheduled for 31 December 2025, while the delivery to the citizens by June 2026. The project was financed with the funds of a PNRR tender issued by the Ministry of Education which the Administration, thanks to the project developed, obtained for an amount of €2,887,600.

Still on the subject of school infrastructure, in Bragarina, the renovation of the Pianta primary school (ages 6-11 years) is being concluded and the two PNRR projects for the building replacement of the Scuola Fontana (ages 11-14 years) are underway ) and for its new gym. All these projects, together with the new “PM Beghi” Civic Library and the architectural recovery project of the southern warehouse of the Ex Fitram area, will make the Bragarina district a truly modern, safe educational center serving the eastern part of the city and of the entire community.
