LA SPEZIA – The three days of Let’s free ourselves. Read everywhere, read anyway – Spring at 14to edition with a renewed format under the artistic coordination of Alessandro Maggi.
A format that confirms itself as a success with the public, having reached almost six hundred people among the twelve events.
This year’s theme is “Voice of the Verb: Future!” and during the spring events there were alternating reflections on the destiny of literature, future writing and reading, on environmental and climate challenges, on theatrical literature, on our territory and on poetry on the occasion of the centenary of Paolo Volponi’s birth.
Among the most attended meetings those of Mario Tozzi and Dario Vergassola stand out.
For the Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini “the first three days of Libriamoci, the literary festival dedicated to reading, saw considerable public participation and the presence of guests of great caliber, capable of involving, exciting and making those present reflect. Libriamoci Primavera represents the first chapter of an edition which, this year, has tripled the appointments and will continue from June until November, also involving schools through a literary competition open to pupils, and local authors with ‘Libriamoci Autori del Golfo ”. The book represents an important heritage for all of us, an open door to new worlds, a tool to reflect, to ask questions and face the journey of life with courage and awareness. For this reason, as an Administration, we have decided to invest in this event and we will continue to do so in future editions.”
During the event, the writing competition for schools with the theme “Imagine the future” was also announced. The competition, aimed at primary, lower secondary and upper secondary school students in the Province of La Spezia, intends to encourage reflection on the theme of the future, the underlying theme of the 2024 edition of the event, through the development of a written text in the form of a prose story, essay, poetic composition, illustrated story, theatrical text or comic.
