(By Anthony Carrano) Time for report cards after an amazing year which saw Taranto finish second on the field. Let’s analyze the season in detail goalkeepers and defenders.
GOALKEEPERS
Vannucchi, 9 – A season to remember for the rossoblù goalkeeper. With saves to save results, he brings Taranto to second place in the standings, an unthinkable goal at the beginning of the year. He made many prodigious interventions in a championship in which he was the absolute protagonist
Loliva, SV – Costantino, SV
DEFENDERS
Antonini, 7.5 – With his four goals scored in the first part of the championship he certainly had a positive influence on the progress of the competitive season that has just ended.
Miceli, 7 – He has the arduous task of not making Antonini regret. He proved to be impeccable in marking except in the double match against Vicenza where he suffered from Ferrari’s physicality. Many players were canceled out by his temperament during the course of the championship, including Murano and Patierno, the top scorers of the tournament, who found no space in front of the powerful central defender.
Riggio, 5.5 – The wonderful goal scored from midfield in Monopoli is not enough to make us forget the wrong goal in Caserta and some dull performances on a defensive level.
Luciani, 7 – His arrival on the banks of the Ionian Sea was decisive. He fights with determination, never sparing any contrast. If necessary, flexible and ready to take on various roles, a true all-round wild card.
Enrici, 6.5 – An “Under” that at times made the difference from the “Over”. Definitely a positive season for the left wing man who grew up a lot under the direction of Mr. Capuano.
De Santis, 5 – His adventure in the rossoblù shirt should be forgotten. Few appearances and all negative.
Heinz, 5.5 – Starts positive, then loses.
Travaglini, SV
