CIVITANOVA – As part of the services for preventing and combating illicit trafficking, with particular regard to those concerning the use and dealing of narcotic substances, further strengthened following what was agreed upon in the Provincial Committee for Order and Security Public, the soldiers of the Civitanova Marche Company, with the help of the dog unit, continue to monitor the express courier warehouses, located in the province of Macerata, and to carry out external checks on the packages present there, in order to identify the possible concealment of narcotic substances.

During one of these checks, the insistent reports from the drug-sniffing dog “Hanima” made it possible to identify several packages lying around, waiting to be delivered to the recipient, for which the Financiers operating, believing that they could contain narcotic substances, subject to the authorization of the Public Prosecutor on duty of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Macerata, opened them and inspected them, finding a total of over 55 kg of marijuana inside them.

The narcotic substance was subjected to evidentiary seizure and the recipient of the packages, uniquely identified, was reported at large to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Macerata, without prejudice to the presumption of innocence until responsibility has been ascertained.

The service operation is part of the broader mechanism to combat the trafficking and dealing of narcotic substances towards which the Guardia di Finanza ensures an incessant and constant commitment aimed at safeguarding human life.
