The Cagliari Primavera closed the season in style with one prestigious 5-3 victory against Hellas Verona. The baby rossoblù are placed at seventh placeat 50 points, -1 behind Milan who, instead, will go to play for the scudetto playoffs together with Sassuolo, Atalanta, Lazio and the two top seeds, Inter and Roma.
The summary of the match
One-sided first half for Fabio Pisacane’s team. At 5′ Bolzan gives the Sardinians the lead on a penalty kick. Cagliari doubled their lead in the 34th minute with Ardaujoined by Pisacane in the Primavera from the Under 18 group. In the 37th minute Manuel Conti he sealed the hat-trick with a beautiful goal from outside the area that was very reminiscent of the ones his father, Daniele, scored with the number five on his shoulders. The second half opens with the fourth goal of Vinciguerra. The match seems closed, Cagliari relaxes too much and Hellas takes advantage of it. Agbonifo and Cisse (on penalty) shorten the distances, bringing the match to 4-2. But Idrissi, in the 62nd minute he scores the fifth goal on the counterattack. The Veronese network is useless Vermesan, in the 69th minute. Pisacane’s team concedes something towards the end but takes home the three points. Of note is the return to the field of Alex Caddeo six months after the tibia injury.
Thus ends an intense season which saw Pisacane’s Cagliari fight until the final stages for a place in the playoffs. It remains, perhaps, a hint of regret for some lost points, especially in the second round, and which would have made the difference. But the balance is certainly positive.
