Reggio, success and applause for the Burlesque Show at the Odeon Theatre

Success at the Odeon theater for the show of Burlesque show. The event, which took place on Friday 17 May, saw a packed room welcoming the show, divided into two parts, with enthusiasm and warmth.

The Show, conceived and curated by the School of Royal Dance Calabria directed by the teacher Francesco Cotroneo, saw the supervision, choreography and artistic direction of the masters Davide Calarco and Giada SanFilippo.

Numerous dancers on stage who took turns in different moments of the show, obviously taken from the musical film “Burlesque” from 2010, directed by Steven Antin, with protagonists Christina Aguilera and Cher.

The film the show is based on

The story, as noted, follows Ali Rose (Christina Aguilera), a young waitress who leaves Iowa for Los Angeles in search of fortune. Here he finds work at Burlesque Loungea financially struggling club run by Tess (Cher).

Ali, fascinated by burlesque performances, dreams of performing on stage. After being robbed, she moves into the home of barman Jack (Cam Gigandet), with whom she develops a strong friendship. Her big break comes when principal dancer Nikki (Kristen Bell) sabotages a performance and Ali saves the day by singing live, impressing Tess.

Thanks to her powerful voice and natural talent, Ali becomes the star of the club, even attracting the attention of a businessman, Marcus (Eric Dane), who wants to buy the Burlesque Lounge. With Jack’s help, Ali finds a solution to save the place: she convinces Tess to sell the elevation rights to the land, solving the financial problems.

The film ends with Ali performing triumphantly, restoring the Burlesque Lounge to its former glory. “Burlesque” is a story of determination and success, with spectacular performances and a memorable soundtrack.

On the stage ofOdeonthe young artists of Royal Dance Calabria have revived the magic of Los Anglese and the unmistakable glamorous and sensual atmospheres of burlesque, a form of theatrical entertainment that combines elements of dance, comedy and entertainment, characterized by a strong sensual and provocative component.

The packed hall of the Odeon immersed itself in the glittering world of Los Angeles for an evening, demonstrating with warmth and applause its appreciation of the dancers’ performances. Ali’s exciting story, with the choreography interspersed with some of the film’s original dialogues, the common thread to tell a story made of determination and dreams, the desire to never give up and stubbornly believe in one’s abilities.

The dance, the music (with the soundtrack of the 2010 film which featured numerous songs sung by Christina Aguilera and other songs performed by Cher and Jess Collins) and the sensual movements of the different characters embellished a special and electrifying evening.

Once the show was over, the Odeon audience with long applause asked for an ‘encore’ immediately granted by the artists of the Royal Dance Calabria. The ideal way to end an evening of entertainment and glamour, a perfect show made of music, choreography, lights and sequins which we hope can be replicated in the future with other performances curated by the Reggio dance school.
