The 2024 Sports Week will be held in Rho from May 20th to 26th: seven days of tournaments, performances, festive occasions to celebrate all the disciplines practiced in the city and, above all, the athletes who are the protagonists. The theme of this edition, again organized by the Municipality of Rho with the Sports Council, is NO LIMITATIONS, since in the city sport is truly about inclusion. The slogan is linked to a blue shirt with a red 7 reminiscent of superhero symbols. The message is simple: anyone who wears a sports shirt overcomes their limits and becomes a superhero. There are no limits to playing sports.
The theme is taken up by posters spread around the city, featuring a senior citizen who is a skilled marathon runner, a very young fencer, a girl who practices martial arts, a tennis champion in a wheelchair.
On the back of the t-shirt there are the names of the sponsors, fundamental for the organization of the days: Acquaflex, Sacchital, Sontex, Luciana Sommariva Dental Clinic, Lainauto, Panta Rei Rehab & Sports, Gil.
The program will start on Monday 20 May, when over 150 girls from six companies will perform from 5pm to 7.30pm in Piazza San Vittore: Gymnastics Rho Cornaredo; Rhythmic Rho; Ginnika 2001; Sport and Passion; Magic PowerASD Gym; In Ballet. Then, in the following days, mini basketball, baseball, volleyball, archery, a 3-on-3 basketball match at night. A conference on cyberbullying is scheduled for Thursday 23 May at 9pm in the Sala del Camino of Villa Burba with experts ready to explain how to combat the phenomenon in the world of sport. The initiative is promoted by Rhodense football. On the same evening, an evening cycling race is planned with the Biringhello company.
On the evening of Friday 24 May the Moto Club Rho will bring many other companies to the center and motorcyclists will be able to register. It will be a party full of passion for two wheels. Saturday 25 May from 10am to midday saddle baptism at Villa Scheibler for the kids with Jumping Villa Scheibler. Then, sitting volleyball from 9.00 to 13.00 in Stellanda: the athletes who play volleyball sitting on the ground will demonstrate willpower and tenacity, an example for everyone.
In the afternoon there are many events including the 5-a-side football play-offs for the Rho Futsal series B from 5pm to 7pm in Stellanda. From 4.00pm to 9.00pm Skating vs Athletics with Skating Rho and the Atletica.it Sports School at Ciclistica Biringhello in via Labriola: free skating practices, but also high jump, vortex and javelin throwing, shot put, running tests on the straight. Demonstration events and competitions of the various disciplines will follow. There will be no shortage of street food and widespread music.
On Sunday there will be everything and more: triathlon race at Molinello, where there will also be a relay with the Rhodesian running group; inclusive fencing at the Nuvola Rossa, karate demonstration at the Dojo club, tennis, inflatables and laser weapons.
From Tuesday 21st to Thursday 23rd May open karate lessons from 6.30pm for children and teenagers; from 8.00 pm for adults, Katori Shinto Ryu (Japanese sword) and Taichi Chuan lessons, thanks to Dojo Yohkoh SSD and School of Martial Arts and Oriental Culture (info 351 651 3114).
Friday 24th from 8.30am to 2pm at Molinello Baskin regional student championships for lower secondary schools.
