The comic “The Decisive Moment”, entitled “The Decisive Moment”, is being distributed in secondary schools in the Red area of Campi Flegrei.The comma“, dedicated to the ongoing bradyseismic crisis and the volcanic risk in the area.
The initiative is part of the Communication Plan for the population developed by the Campania Region, together with the Civil Protection Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (and approved with Regional Council Resolution 679/2023) within the scope of Legislative Decree 140 of 12 October 2023.

“The decisive moment” is an I don’t risk project which aims to increase awareness of risks even among the youngest. In this new story, the four protagonists Samira, Carlo, Katja and Paolo are involved in an exciting adventure in the Campi Flegrei, which allows them to discover the volcanic nature of the area, the phenomenon of bradyseism, the eruptions of the past, the risk present, the civil protection plan and the prevention measures to be adopted.
In these hours the Civil Protection of the Campania Region, in agreement with the Regional School Office, is delivering the comics: distribution takes place in all secondary schools that fall within the Red zone of Pozzuoli and Campi Flegrei (due to volcanic risk ) and not only in those included in the intervention area of bradyseism planning in line with the approved communication plan.
With the release of the second issue, the website www.attimodecisivo.iononrischio.gov.it/it/ was also updated to host the new content dedicated to the episode: the browsable version of the comic and some in-depth videos that can also be accessed by QR codes present in the comic, in which the protagonists illustrate the characteristics and peculiarities of the volcanic area and the national civil protection plan and provide information on the good practices to be adopted. Some video lessons aimed at teachers to better contextualise the contents of the comic, held by scientists and civil protection experts, are also available on the ‘I don’t risk’ YouTube channel.
