the Italian green revolution starts from the province of Avellino

The first technical meeting for the implementation of “Hirpinia Green Revolution”, the project of the province of Avellino and the municipality of Chiusano San Domenico which concerns the overall system of urban regeneration, historic villages, sustainable mobility and of community energy through the conversion of a quarry into a Terra Preta power plant, i.e. the compound similar to humus and natural fertilizing products which is obtained from waste materials and pruning cuttings through a transformation process.

“The key to increasing production, protecting natural resources at the same time and enhancing our heritage lies in sustainable development from an environmental point of view and the starting point must be projects like those we are proposing today” explains Beppe Incocciati, advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister, Antonio Tajani, underlining that “The new green revolution hoped for by the table will be based on the direct involvement of local communities and on the wiser and more efficient use of the natural resources available”.

Carmine De Angelis, mayor of Chiusano San Domenico (leader municipality of the project), also an advisor to Minister Tajani, is of the same opinion: “What we are proposing is a revolution based on technological innovation, energy efficiency and renewable sources. We are aiming for a new form of green economy to open market spaces and create jobs for young people who want to stay and live in Irpinia. We want to send a strong message from our lands so that all the anti-crisis plans appropriately developed by our government are colored green and there are investments in the protection of the environment and the relaunch of our territories”.

At the technical table, in addition to Councilors Incocciati and De Angelis, the Chief of Cabinet of the Province of Avellino and Mayor of Marzano di Nola, Franco Addeo, who highlights the commitment of the President of the Province, Rizieri Buonopane: “The response to the crisis due to depopulation of our villages must be concrete and ambitious at the same time. A round of applause, therefore, for a project that focuses on innovation, quality, made in Italy, and the green economy. An economy that focuses on research, knowledge, culture and beauty, which feeds on local talents and gives strength to the mission of our lands. Thanks to Vice President Tajani who believed in our initiative from the beginning and took steps to support it.” Also present were representatives of the municipal administration of Chiusano, leader of green communities.

The Irpinia Green Project, illustrated by the technical staff of Sector 5 ‘PNRR and investments’ of the Province of Avellino, involves a total of three interventions for a total value of 20 million euros.
