Foggia, Tonia Augelli president of the ‘Stone’ section of Confindustria

Tonia Augelli is the president of the ‘Stone’ product section of Confindustria Foggia, which brings together associated companies operating in the sectors of extraction and processing of marble and stone materials, aggregate quarries and crushing.

Thirty-eight years old, graduated in Law from Luiss Guido Carli in Rome, since 2010 she has been involved in the management of the family companies ‘Augelli Marmi snc’ and ‘Augelli Cave srl’ of Apricena, which operate respectively in the sector of transformation and marketing of stone materials and in the cultivation of quarries located in the marble basin from which the ‘Apricena Stone’ is extracted.

He has gained significant experience in the stone sector within the product section to which he belongs, actively participating in the various initiatives that the section has undertaken over the last few years to support and encourage the development and competitiveness of the sector, contributing to giving voice to the requests of associated companies both at a territorial and regional level.

During her speech, the president underlined how “through the incisive action and synergistic work carried out by the Stone section of Confindustria Foggia over the last few months, it has been possible to sign the renewal agreement of the provincial supplementary contract for the sector , signed last May 15, 2024”. The president expressed her praise to all the members for achieving this important result obtained thanks to the precious contribution of each registered company and the constant commitment made by all the members of the technical structure of Confindustria Foggia and its General Director, Enrico Barbone , who supported the section along this path.

Augelli then focused on the historicity and relevance of the stone sector in the Province of Foggia, an area in which there is a marble basin of national importance such as that of Apricena-Poggio Imperiale and Lesina and in which a significant number of companies operating are concentrated in the extraction sector, the processing and transformation industry of stone materials and the production of aggregates and crushing, stating that for this reason the Stone section of Confindustria Foggia must continue to work synergistically to support and give voice to the stone sector not only at provincial but also regional, promoting regional initiatives to be undertaken for the benefit of companies through the sector representation present at Confindustria Puglia.

In particular, it highlighted the importance of carrying out constant monitoring of the sector regulations (Regional Law No. 22/2019 regarding extractive activities) by establishing a permanent technical working group within the Stone section that can support the President’s activities. It also announced that it wanted to “promote appropriate initiatives at a territorial level aimed at starting a discussion with the Puglia Region, with all the regional offices and bodies that in various capacities are involved in the matter, as well as with all the municipalities of the province affected by the activities extractive industries to which the regional law has delegated the responsibilities in this matter, in order to monitor the overall progress of the state of application of the regulations in force on the territory of the province and, at the same time, to verify any critical points to be overcome, with the objective of increasing the development and competitiveness of companies in the stone sector operating in the province of Foggia”.
