Torre del Greco – Via Curtoli reopens on Monday with two-way traffic lights

Work finished three weeks earlier: we start with a temporary system awaiting checks.

It will reopen to traffic on Monday 20 May, three weeks ahead of the initial schedule. Via Curtoli is once again accessible to cars. And as announced by the municipal administration led by mayor Luigi Mennella on the occasion of the start of the redevelopment interventions, which in particular led to the creation of wider pavements in the narrowest stretch of road, it will have two-way traffic, the same regulated by a temporary traffic light system
This was established by a management ordinance of the autonomous municipal police sector, which establishes the “temporary two-way traffic in via Curtoli from number 1 to number 33, from 20 May to 11 June, with

time h. 24, regulated with a temporary traffic light system”.
The deputy mayor with responsibility for traffic is explaining the reasons for this choice: “The opening of the road earlier than the initial forecast – underlines Michele Polese – will allow us in the first weeks to verify the progress of the traffic in the area, in particular in the hours peak, which we believe to be those that coincide with the entry and exit of students from the nearby Giovanni Paolo II complex. At the end of this period, together with the relevant offices, we will take an initial assessment of the situation to evaluate any critical issues and, if this is necessary, proceed with the appropriate technical measures”.
