Viterbo – Sberna (FdI): “Data shows good work by the Meloni government. Model for Europe too”

VITERBO – “Istat’s 2024 annual report certifies the excellent work of the Meloni Government, demonstrating how growth is in numbers and not in propaganda”. This is what the Fratelli d’Italia candidate for the European elections on 8 and 9 June in the central Italian constituency declared in a note Antonella Sberna, former councilor for social services, youth and family policies, relations with the Union European Union and the University of the Municipality of Viterbo.

“GDP is growing in all sectors even better than France and Germany – continues Sberna – while the government’s action has had a positive impact on employment, on the productivity of businesses, on the purchasing power of families, on the increase in wages, contrary to the propaganda of the opposition which attempted to make people believe that with the centre-right in government the Italian economy would collapse and unemployment would increase. In reality this was not the case, the data proves it and furthermore our government proved to be serious and reliable also towards Europe, managing to contain the public debt and keep the accounts in order. Strengthened by these results, we will present ourselves in Europe with our heads held high and with the prospect of contributing to modifying those policies which up to now have penalized member countries in order to give new impetus to development. Europe will have to return to being the homeland of opportunities and investments, not of bureaucratic ties and missed opportunities.” “The results achieved by the Meloni government – she adds – demonstrate that it is possible to easily combine the maintenance of public accounts with growth policies. With this spirit, we will therefore aim to improve the Stability and Growth Pact with a view to greater flexibility and above all by changing the approach adopted up to now regarding the management and containment of public debt, favoring and incentivising spending on investments that produce growth, wealth and work. It is not through widespread subsidies that one can think of restarting the economy and increasing the purchasing power of families, but by creating the conditions for the economic and productive fabric to return to generating wealth and above all employment: it is work that gives dignity and consequently also promotes demographic recovery. A virtuous circle that the Meloni government has managed to set in motion and which, with a more innovative and collaborative approach on the part of the European institutions, will be able to continue to produce positive results”.
