Bad weather: there’s no way out! The trend until the end of May is starting to take shape: it seems that a good portion of the country will still have to deal with storms, while only some will be able to enjoy the first warm weather of the season.
What catches your eye is an anomaly in the pressure field, of sorts atmospheric wound on the Mediterranean basin which will have consequences on many of our regions at least until the end of the month.

In concrete terms this term means that atmospheric pressure will remain rather low, favoring a certain instability with frequent rains and thunderstorms: in fact there is no anticyclonic figure capable of guaranteeing stable and sunny weather.
There map below highlights the anomaly in the pressure field: the color light blue in fact, it indicates a negative deviation compared to the conditions usually expected in this period.

Be careful, as often happens in this season, this does not mean that all days will be compromised by rainfall, on the contrary, these phenomena often last a few hours before the sun returns (the classic spring instability).
To confirm this trend we show you below the updated map of Central Europe which shows therainfall anomaly until the end of May: color green indicates a surplus rainfall expected in some areas of Italy (in particular in the Centre-North). Umbrellas at hand therefore for the next few weeks, this strange Spring is proving to be quite capricious except for short dry and sunny breaks. The African anticyclone it could only make its appearance in the far south and on the two major islands, favoring greater atmospheric stability here and also the first warm weather of the season.
The real handover between Spring and Summer will therefore not take place before the start of June, when high pressure should be able to guarantee more sun and generalized heat across the entire country.
