Based on surveys carried out on company needs, they will be 3,180 new hires in May in Basilicata, with an increase of 160 units compared to the same month of 2023.
This is what the Excelsior Informa bulletindrawn up monthly by Anpal (National Agency for Active Labor Policies) and by the Chambers of Commerce on the recommendation of the companies themselves.
In the 18% of cases the expected income will be stable, i.e. with a permanent or apprenticeship contract, while 82% will be fixed-term (fixed-term or other contracts with a predefined duration); they will focus on:
- 56% in the service sector and 76% in companies with fewer than 50 employees;
- 12% will be allocated to managers, specialists and technicians, a share lower than the national average (16%);
- for a share equal to 30% they will affect young people under 30 and for 17% companies plan to hire immigrant staff.
- 10% of the expected revenue will be allocated to graduate staff, and in 51 cases out of 100 companies expect to have difficulty finding the desired profiles.

Data in red, in Potenza, compared to the national averageexcept for that relating to unemployment of people between 15 and 64 years old: here the regional capital ranks 65th nationally with 7.4%.
The data regarding inactivity, the generation gap and expected revenues are negative, while – while remaining below the national average – the employment data for people aged 15-64 makes 2023 the best result in the last five years.
Also in Matera and its province the 2023 balance is negativeWith the’exception of the data on the “percentage incidence of income for which the female gender is expressly required” (55th place nationally with 18.7%).
Compared to employment rate for people aged 15 to 64, improves by two points in the ranking compared to 2022 but it remains below the national average and below the best provincial performance of the last five years.
