To the horse they had been denied water and rest. In August 2020, the animal was unable to resist the heat and died after suffering cardiac arrest. Four years after the event, which shocked tourists in the Royal Palace of Casertathe Court of Santa Maria Caputa Vetere sentenced the former coachman who worked at the horse-drawn service in the area to one year in prison for killing animals.
The process
The judge recognized the woman’s responsibility, reports Corriere della Sera. The former coach driver was found guilty of denying the animal the rest and essential care that her job required. The horse, who was named Found Goal Pag, was unable to withstand the great August heat, especially because he had not drank water for several hours. Only in the days following the accident was it discovered that the animal was not authorized for that type of transport. After his death the management of the Palace suspended the wheelchair service.
