Viterbo – We receive and publish – In recent months, several neighborhoods of our city have shown clear signs of urban decay and neglect, including accumulation of waste, graffiti, neglected buildings, bad streets and unkept green areas, tall grass and the presence of wild boars everywhere , up to a few meters from the Town Hall.
This situation is causing concerns among residents about potential risks to public health, safety and quality of life. Likewise, degradation and neglect negatively affect the image of the city, reducing its attractiveness for tourists and investors, and potentially compromising the value of real estate properties.
The recurrence and continuation of these emergencies objectively show the complete inattention of the Frontini administration on the issues of degradation and neglect. The pursuit of advertisements without substance has led the city to abandonment.
Although, in April, councilor Floris had announced the imminent publication of the biennial tender for the maintenance of the greenery and a “bridge” assignment through Mepa (300 thousand euros) to buffer the present, Viterbo inexorably remains the city of tall grass . The situation remains unchanged since last year, a sign of a real planning inability on the part of the Frontini administration which had made the cleanliness of the city an electoral flag, which has now become a crumpled handkerchief. But above all: what happened to the announcement? What did the buffer assignments produce?
What can we say about the wild boar situation, which has now arrived knocking on the door of the municipality. Words, many words: of an extraordinary municipal council to say that it plans to capture 200 specimens in cages and activate an application to report the presence of the animals, it is not clear what is left. There is no trace of the public meetings in which a municipal technical table and the distribution of tubs with “boar-proof” closures were proposed.
Viterbo and the people of Viterbo deserve more than this absence, inattention and superficiality. The image and liveability of the city is at stake, the selfie season is now over.
