Social Pact for Parma, Priamo Bocchi’s doubts

While growing situations of poverty, fragility and social hardship are putting pressure on the welfare system of our municipality, for two years the administration has continued to stage presentations and events linked to the new, much-vaunted Social Pact, a totem that has become a sort of self-celebratory and reiterated event.

In fact, next Saturday the six days of concerts, lessons, pistols, metabolic walks, debates, projections, readings, musical workshops, seminars and workshops (a cool term) on innovation codesign methods (which we don’t know what that means).

Disabled people who this year too will be forced to attend summer camps for no more than 4 weeks up to a maximum of 30 hours per week due to lack of funds, may perhaps not understand the 29,890 euros spent by the municipality’s social sector just for digital services of the six days.

Those, however, who have been waiting for their “life project” for years will be able to find consolation in the conference scheduled at the Ridotto del Regio on the “regulations and perspectives of the life project”. While it has reduced the internships of the SOL project (development of work opportunities) in favor of fragile and vulnerable people, the social sector (still led by an interim manager) has financed the University of Parma with 105,000 euros for 4 research grants on hardship , youth and otherwise, falling within the scope of the welfare observatory.

A welfare, in short, which does not mark anything new with the previous administration and whose programme, after two years of mandate, remains confused in a smoke screen of tables, control rooms, observatories and expensive events.

Marie Antoinette’s expression comes to mind: “if they have no more bread, let them eat croissants”… and conferences.
