The 4 routes revealed
The Varese Van Vlaanderen is one of the most anticipated events for those who love non-competitive cycling and now the 4 routes have been revealed.
The race will start on June 16th from Piazza Alfredo Binda in Cittiglio. There will be four race routes: the two traditional routes with “walls”, the gravel route and the cycle touring route.
Also collaborating with the Organizing Committee and the Orinese Cycling Society is the Varese BikeGuide Association, in the context of the varesedoyoubike project of the Varese Chamber of Commerce.
Gravel
The guides, coordinated on this occasion by Angelo Falconati, have prepared an unprecedented route of 62 kilometres, with a difference in altitude of 740 metres. This edition of the Varese Van Vlaanderen Gravel will take participants to pedal in the northern part of the province of Varese, after starting from Cittiglio.
The organization will provide all participants with the route to follow the route which includes two refreshment points in addition to the final one.
The two randonnees
The randonnèe includes two routes of 85 and 225 kilometres, both marked with appropriate arrows and with the indication of all the “walls”, with their length and slope. Furthermore, the panoramic points and refreshment points will be indicated: 4 on the long route, in addition to the arrival, 3 on the short route in addition to the arrival.
The long route offers 21 ascents, some new, and passes through some areas of the upper Varese area that are often unknown to cyclists. The short route is instead designed with 16 walls.
Cycle tourism
To offer even the less prepared the opportunity to participate in the non-competitive cycling festival, there will be the route from Cittiglio to Luino. There will be a refreshment point there, before returning to the starting point. This route will also be the scene of the National Panathlete Cyclists Gathering.
Museum and exhibitions
Participants will be able to visit the Alfredo Binda Museum in Cittiglio for free and the exhibition of vintage jerseys and bicycles in the starting point.
Registrations
Registrations are still open on sitebut THE LIMIT IS 300 participants, half of whom are already registered.
The organizers have confirmed the cost of registration at only 15 Euros with a goody bag containing eleven items.
AIC Lombardia Onlus
The novelty of this edition is the collaboration with AIC Lombardia Onlus which upon arrival in Cittiglio will offer a gluten-free refreshment bag for celiac participants. It will be an absolute novelty for randonnées and gravel tours in Lombardy.
Collaborations
The promoters of the event will offer a free space, at the departure and arrival point at the FeStiAmo Park in Cittiglio, to the organizers of other cycling events. These will have the opportunity to promote their events
