Sport, art and solidarity. A trio that councilor Alessandro Albani and Matteo Toia hope will be successful. A trio that has all the hallmarks of resulting in a charity work. But then how can we combine sport, art and solidarity? The multiple 50 and 100 breaststroke champion Nicolò Martinenghifrom Azzato, signed and donated her fins, the former synchronized swimming Olympian, now artist and vascular surgeon Manuela Carnini will create a work of art that will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to charity for Audio Vestibologia of Varese.
So in collaboration with Aguav, the audio vestibology parents’ association of Varese, the bustocchi Albani, Carnini and Toia have joined forces to give life to a project that they like to call “The strength beyond”.
But how will Manuela Carnini give life to the swimming champion’s fins? «For now it’s just an idea – he says – I predict a marine environment, the horizon of the five circles: in short, I will find a way to enhance these fins.”

So Martinenghi and Carnini, two Olympians: he 4 world championships with two golds, 4 silvers and a bronze and two Olympics, she was an Olympian in ’96 in Atlanta, bronze at the Europeans, multiple titles such as Italian synchro gold. Manuela swam until she was 21, now she is 50 with a good career as a doctor vascular surgeon in various laboratories in the province of Varese, at San Carlo in Busto Arsizio and at Multimedica in Castellanza and boasts a highly respectable artistic curriculum with his paintings in the name of love which have toured all over Europe, landing on none other than the Times giant screen Square in the USA, in Miami, New York and Los Angeles.
