L’AQUILA – National Historic Houses Day, Palazzo Margherita open to the public on 26 May.
Upon proposal of the Tourism Councilor, Ersilia Lanciathe municipal council approved the resolution with which, in conjunction with the XIV National Day of Historic Homesthe extraordinary opening to the public of the municipal residence of Margherita Palace.
The Municipality of L’Aquila joins the initiative promoted in the city by the Carispaq Foundation and the Association of Italian Historic Houses – Abruzzo, as part of a national event that represents “the largest widespread museum in Italy”, organized in collaboration with the ‘National Association Case della Memoria, the Italian Federation of Friends of Museums and Federmatrimoni ed Eventi, with the patronage of the National Tourism Agency and the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, and which provides for the extraordinary and free visit, on the national territory, of 550 monuments including castles, fortresses, villas, parks and gardens among the most relevant and significant of the Italian artistic and cultural heritage.
As reported in the document approved by the municipal executive “visitors will be guided by certified tour leaders thanks to the collaboration of the Explora cooperative of L’Aquila, which will take care of the relevant reception and management”.
“The possibility of visiting Palazzo Margherita and learning more about it thanks to the presence of specialized personnel represents a great opportunity for citizens, visitors and tourists. – explains councilor Lancia – We thank the Carispaq Foundation and the Italian Historic Houses-Abruzzo Association for promoting an initiative of such high value from a cultural and identity point of view for our community”.
