The match played by Trento at Palmanova last Saturday, for the first day of the triangular C of the Serie C1 national playoffs, was truly legendary. Mister Wegher’s men went to Friuli with their rotations literally reduced to the bare bones, yet they managed to come back from 0-6 to 4-6, coming close to a sensational coup. Despite the defeat which inevitably complicated the situation in the group, the yellow-blues, as also said on the eve of the last match played on the palmarini pitch, have already won everything on a sporting level, because after starting the season without coach and staff, with roster departures recorded along the way, having come close to direct promotion to Serie B is legendary in itself. So, with the same carefree head and with a great desire to amaze and have fun, the Trentino players will also try again in Saturday’s prohibitive match against the Venetians of Antenore Padova, who however will have to face a long trip.

On the eve of a match like this which therefore promises a lot of entertainment, we went to exchange a few words with the captain of Trento, Giovanni Scaduto

– Let’s start with a quick analysis of what happened in Palmanova last Saturday: despite the many absences, you came close to making a sensational comeback, so can you say that you are still satisfied with your performance?

“Of course, we are satisfied with the performance given that we had many absences and only one change, including the goalkeeper – the winger born in 1984 tells us -: in 5-a-side football we know that changes are fundamental. But we still managed to dose the energy and try to give my best to try to win the match.”

– Last Saturday you showed that you have a lot of heart. But can this heart now be supported by a more substantial technical force next weekend? Against the Antenor will you have the opportunity to count on greater rotations?

“Yes, for the next match we can count on a greater rotation given that some important players are returning; we will try to give our best.”

– We know how many obstacles he overcome in the season. As captain, what do you feel like saying to your teammates, staff and environment after this year which, regardless of the epilogue of the playoffs, is already memorable?

“Yes, this year has been a difficult year due to all the problems we had at the beginning of the year, finding ourselves without a coach and technical staff from one day to the next, with some players abandoning the team in moments of difficulty, but despite this, we rolled up our sleeves, we worked hard, thanks also to coach Wegher who stopped playing to take on this difficult task, giving us confidence and above all making us believe that the season could give us something beautiful. I’m proud of my teammates and of this group because we never gave up. Now we need to stay calm and enjoy this match.”
