Virtus and Pegaso, assisted by the Regional Committee of the FIP and with the patronage of the Municipality, will organize the first Jamboree Aquilotti Sicilywhich will be held in Ragusa from 17 to 19 May. Around 450 athletes, born in 2013 and 2014, will give life to one of the most heartfelt and exciting mini-basketball competitions. A true regional gathering, spread across the most iconic places of Iblean basketball: it will be played at PalaPadua, PalaMinardi, PalaParisi, Palestra Pappalardo and in the gyms of the “Umberto I” and “Quasimodo” schools.

The event, which will bring around 1,500 people to the city of Ragusa (including around sixty instructors), will see a wide range of participants: thirty teams will be involved from all over Sicily. These are Panormus, Jukà Comiso, Pegaso Ragusa, Virtus Ragusa, Zannella Cefalù, Pallacanestro Bagheria, Invicta 93cento, GF23 Palermo, Orlandina Young, PCR Messina, Vigor Santa Croce, Virtus Trapani, Lions Leontinoi, Nuova Pall. Marsala, Syracuse Basketball, Pall. Giarre, Avola Basket, Cus Catania, Aretusa Siracusa, Sport Club Gravina, Happy Basket Palermo, Milazzo released, San Matteo MessinaIdeal Gela, Airam Caltanissetta, Corant Basket Rosolini, Ad Maiora Ragusa, Invictus Palagonia, Domenico Savio Ragusa and Ciavorella Scicli.

“This is a prestigious event – underlines the technical manager of Virtus Alessandro Vicari -, thanks to which Ragusa will be able to demonstrate its organizational skills and its attractive vocation for the world of basketball. Hundreds of young people with families in tow will take turns in these three days full of events, in which we expect good participation from the public too. The objectives we hope to pursue are the growth and enjoyment of the kids, as well as the creation of a healthy and competitive environment that brings more and more people to this sport.”
