Following the meteorological events of the last few hours which have heavily affected some municipalities in the Romagna Faentina and of Lower Romagna, the Committees of the flood victims of Faenza, via a press note, they intend to express:

solidarity and closeness to populations once again affected by the consequences of events that are taking on increasingly worrying recursive characteristics;

worry for the evident ineffectiveness of the technical and procedural measures taken to prevent said events;

anxiety for the lack of information about the existing programs and the applicable and planned technical solutions for improving the levels of protection of the population with respect to these situations;

firm request of re-evaluating the risk inherent to individual communities and communicating to the population the most appropriate measures to take for the protection of property and individual safety.

The note continues by underlining how “these events dramatically recall what happened in May 2023 is that, where environmental conditions evolve, the individual and collective prevention and protection criteria and measures put in place to protect populations must equally evolve.

The committees then report that they are concerned about the ability of the local sewerage and water system to respond effectively to recurring meteorological events.
