Over the course of 70 years, the city of Lucca has acted as an open-air set for numerous important film and television productions, which have involved actors of national and international fame: this golden history is now celebrated by the exhibition organized by the Lions Club Lucca Host and Lucchesi nel Mondo association, with the support of the newspaper La Nazione, at the Balestrieri barracks.

The exhibition was inaugurated today in the presence of many local authorities, including the mayor Mario Pardini and the president of the province Luca Menesiniand allows us to take a “dive into the past”: starting from the 1952 film “The provincial one“, with Gina Lollobrigida, considered the first truly structured film after the Second World War, passing through films such as “Young Husbands”, “The Marquis del Grillo” And “Portrait of a lady“, until arriving in 2011 with “Finally happiness” and, finally, to Peter Greenaway’s film.

This fascinating story is recalled through numerous period photographs, many of which are in black and white, depicting the actors on the set and taken by the careful lens of Alcide Tosi and his sons Claudio and Mimmo. The photos are then accompanied by numerous original posters of the time, made available by Alessandro Orsucci.

Film, but also solidarity: all the photographs exhibited are in fact for sale (bookable and collectable at Foto Alcide), and the proceeds will be entirely donated to the Children’s Village.

The exhibition will be open from May 10th to May 19th (with the exception of the 12th) from 5pm to 7pm and from 9pm to 11pm.
