A major accident which occurred on Tuesday 14 May created serious inconveniences on the A14 motorway between Francavilla al Mare and Chieti (Pescara south-Pescara west).
A truck and three cars were involved and caused traffic to come to a standstill.
As reported by some local newspapers, a truck driver from Molfetta took a positive role in the event by getting out of the vehicle and helping rescue a woman who was stuck in her burning vehicle.
“The driver of a bus and three truck drivers saved the life of a woman involved in this morning’s accident on the A14 motorway between the Francavilla al Mare and Chieti exits – reports the online newspaper chietitoday.it -. After the collision, the drivers got out of their vehicles, forced the door and extracted the driver of the Fiat Punto who was involved in the accident. Shortly afterwards the car caught fire. An impact that involved not only the car driven by the 40-year-old, but also a heavy vehicle and two other cars. The woman was transported by air ambulance to the Santo Spirito hospital in Pescara.”
