“Smiles on the Horizon” in favor of healthcare. The association founded in Foligno last March to support those living in difficult situations, has donated funds for a total of 15 thousand euros in favor of the pediatric department of the “San Giovanni Battista” hospital, of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association (Aism) and the Center for Eating Disorders of Todi. The donation ceremony, which took place last May 14th, attracted the participation of representatives of the various organizations present. Among these also Dr. Orietta Rossi, director of the Foligno hospital who highlighted the importance of these additional funds “not only for the increase in the budget intended for the improvement of the hospital structure, but also for the consolidation of the relationship with society civil society and associations, a fundamental strategic alliance for the improvement of local healthcare”. Also speaking was Dr Maurizio Radicioni, the new director of Paediatrics, who, expressing gratitude for the donation, specified the importance of the funds for strengthening the neonatal service, in particular with regards to the management of complex cases.
Also speaking was Dr. Di Noia, who in addition to expressing gratitude for the donation which will allow the development of further services, highlighted how eating disorders represent a significant problem, underlining how the Todi Center plays a crucial role in the appropriate management of these pathologies.
Representing Aism Annita Rondoni, who thanked and underlined the importance of the funds for research into Multiple Sclerosis, then praised the Foligno hospital for the technical and humanization capabilities proven in her direct experience.
Paolo Chiocchioni, president of “Sorrisi all’Orizzonte”, then spoke and, showing himself moved by the testimonies, illustrated the choice to combine funds raised during the events with the association’s own resources. The president of Confcommercio Aldo Amoni then expressed his satisfaction for having contributed to the project, reiterating the importance of the development of the Foligno hospital for the entire community.
Mauro Ferretti, Leonardo Zampolini, Simona Bellucci, Mauro Zampolini, Manuela Marinangeli and Alessandro Marsili (Aism) also participated in the ceremony on May 14th.
