Piacenza strengthens prevention for safety and legality in the workplace

The memorandum of understanding has been renewed in the prefecture to make monitoring and enforcement more functional

The collaboration between the State, professional associations, trade associations and unions.

The prefecture, the police forces (police headquarters, provincial commands of the Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, traffic police), the territorial administrations (capital municipality and province, provincial school office, territorial labor inspectorate, INPS and Inail, company-local health unit, chamber of commerce and regional employment agency), the trade associations (Confindustria, Confapi, Confcooperative, Legacoop Emilia Ovest, CNA, Free association of artisans, Coldiretti, Confagricoltura), the CGIL CISL, UIL, UGL trade unions and the professional orders and colleges (of engineers, architects, surveyors, land managers, labor consultants).

The agreement is now even more functional for its objectives thanks to the harmonization of the prefecture’s observatory on the trend of accidents in the workplace with that of the province provided for by the 2nd pact for health and safety in the workplace” signed at regional level as part of the “Pact for Work and Climate” of Emilia Romagna.

The two bodies will therefore become a single provincial table for the monitoring of accidents and cases of irregular work or undeclared work, thus contributing to achieving the aim of the agreement, which is not limited to the prevention and combating of these phenomena and of every form of illegality and exploitation in working environments, but also aims to encourage the emergence of occupational diseases.

From this perspective, the provincial observatory – as a place of synthesis and connection between the subjects involved in the implementation of the agreement – will continue its activities of:

– information and training of entrepreneurs, workers and students;
– monitoring of data from sectors particularly affected by serious accidents, such as construction, agriculture, crafts and small businesses, procurement, logistics and, last but not least, metalworking and industry
– information for workers’ safety representatives
– promotion of local agricultural companies joining the Quality Agricultural Work Network.
