THE EAGLE – The MULAQ: a school, a museum, an identity. This is the title of the event that will be held in L’Aquila on Saturday 18 May, on the occasion of the European Night of Museums and of theInternational Museum Day of ICOMin which the collection of the “Fulvio Muzi” Art School will be presented.
The corpus of works, recognized as a Regional Documentation Center in 1998, represents an essential cultural heritage for understanding the contemporary artistic panorama of Abruzzo.
These are artefacts by authors who mostly worked in L’Aquila in the second half of the twentieth century: from historicised masters now valued by critics, such as the artist to whom the school is named, to living masters in the midst of their experience operational, appreciated and established outside the regional borders.
The event is part of a multi-year educational project which, it is hoped, will see the school as the protagonist as a cultural animator of the territory. The head teacher of the IIS “Bafile-Muzi”, Prof. Sabina Adacher, in fact, it states that “with this event we want not only to celebrate the history and rich artistic heritage of our high school, but also to raise awareness in the community of the importance of preserving and enhancing our cultural heritage for future generations”.
