POTENZA – The new two-year program of the Basilicata Region dedicated to strengthening the internationalization paths of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in five key sectors of the Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) has officially started: Creativity, Aerospace, Automotive, Bioeconomy and Energy.
The funding (2024-2026) will support the work of the five related Lucanian clusters which, already from the 2014-2020 FESR PO programming, are engaged in activities to support the digital and green transition of both businesses and Lucanian Municipalities, through the valorisation of research groups, the accompaniment of innovative prototypes developed by start-ups and SMEs in Basilicata on the national and international market, and support for public administrations for participation in ministerial projects.
The clusters therefore continue to represent the focal points of a cooperation network that brings together the main institutions and territorial bodies, as well as the glue between professionalism, businesses and research organizations present in the area.
The new measure was strongly supported by the Office of Internationalisation, Scientific Research and Technological Innovation and by the Office of the Management Authority of the Basilicata ERDF Operational Programmes, and therefore by the Directors Gerardo Travaglio and Antonio Bernardo, through work in concert with Michele Casino, outgoing councilor who continues to follow the transition path that accompanies Lucanian programming in the field of research and innovation.
Great satisfaction was expressed by the representatives of the five clusters, Antonio Colangelo, Raffaele Vitulli, Antonio Braia, Domenico Lazazzera and Luigi Emanuele Marsico, who highlighted how the launch of the new program establishes the primacy of Basilicata as one of the few Regions in Europe to intervene directly to support innovation and research activities by promoting cooperation between institutional bodies and the territory. An added value that will lead in the coming years to a strengthening of the fabric of Lucanian SMEs which will be able to benefit from a continuous process of listening and institutional support to the local needs dictated by the digital and green transition.
