The train project to Olbia airport.
The FS project involves the construction of a new railway route extended for approximately 3.4 kilometresstarting from the Golfo Aranci-Macomer line which crosses the Olbia Terranova station, to finally reach theCosta Smeralda airportwhere a modern head railway station with two platforms will be built.
A key aspect of the project it is also the connection with the line heading south, towards Chilivani/Macomer, through a new railway connection of approximately 1 kilometre, thus expanding the existing railway network and facilitating long-distance travel.
The work as a whole, of total value of 231 million eurosis among the priority works of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr), confirming the Government’s commitment to development and strengthening of infrastructure of the country.
The management of this important intervention was entrusted to the Extraordinary Government Commissioner, thus guaranteeing a strategic approach and careful supervision in compliance with times and deadlines quality standards.
The current identification of the best bidder marks the beginning of a new phase, that of executive planning, which will take the project forward towards its concrete realization. The work is expected to be completely active by 2026representing a step forward in the strengthening and development of Italian railway infrastructure.
