The President of the Region, Luca Zaia he declared state of emergency in Veneto due to an “unexpected flood”. In a few hours the ARPAV and the Civil Protection of Veneto recorded record rainfall: in the Pedemontana Vicenza and Veronese areas there was an average of 180 mm of waterwith 229 mm tips, in six hours.
Today a bridge was swept away by the torrent following the wave of bad weather that hit the Verona area and the entire Veneto: it was the force of the current of the Livergon stream, swollen by the rain, that caused it to collapse. ”This is technically a flood that in mid-May, honestly, we really didn’t expect it,” said the president of the region Luca Zaia during the conference updating the situation in Veneto at the headquarters of the regional civil protection in Marghera.

Vicenza, bridge swept away by the torrent
